Château de Beaulieu, which was built in the 18th century, is recognised for the beauty and charm of its architecture, and is designated a Monument Historique. The château stands just 200 metres from the banks of the River Loire, and is only 2 km from the lovely old town of Saumur.
From here, you can easily visit the famous treasures of the Loire Valley: the Château of Saumur, the Royal Abbey of Fontevraud, the French National School of Equitation, the Cadre Noir, the troglodytic cave dwellings, and the wonderful towns of Angers, Chinon, Tours, the many chateaux along the Loire, and many renowned vineyards. Saumur, the “Pearl of Anjou”, and the Loire Valley were designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2000.
